Let me start by saying this was a birthday treat. It was far, far more then a treat. This restaurant has 3 Michelin Stars and they are more than well deserved. Booking is a bit of jumping through hoops but persevere for the experience. We were booked for 12:30p.m. and exactly on the dot we were shown to our table. The room is staggering in its decor. We could have been at Versailles. The staff are friendly and attentive and share a little joke or two but not out of place. Maximes has our particular mention. As to the food. Where do I start. We had two amuse bouche courses before we even arrived at our appetiser. Wonderful flavours - orange and ginger in a gel bubble. Foie gras with iodised flavours accompanied by caviar. Venison with a Chinon wine sauce, Veal with spinach and sorrel reduction. The tastes just kept on coming. The presentation and elivery is immaculate. My dessert of wafer thin pineapple and kiwi accompanied with a Japanese basil sorbet - it was beyond heaven. Wine was Givry Pinot Noir. Whilst we didn't have a cheese course but the aromas and the choices were their for the fromage connoisseur. I won't pretend that the bill is a little of s surprise but this is not an everyday experience and we considered it totally worth what we paid. I so want to go again. In y book it scores 12 out of 19.
Truly fabulous restaurant and location. Beautiful décor. Excellent French food. One of the best. Great service. So excited to return. We had the tasting menu which was so wonderful. Outstanding wine list. See you again soon. Could you help La Veranda is Milan get back on track ?
Everything here is far beyond all expectations. (even bread & butter!! :) I miss it there. I'll surely come back!
